[MW:26137] Re: NER and Vacuum for cryogenic tank

Hi M. Georgios Dilintas,

Good morning every body,

Following your knowledge and your experience, please advise me how to determine the nitrogen evaluation rate (NER) for the cryogenic tank.

My question:

-          Is there any code to control the NER?

If no code any procedure or specification on the subject would be appreciated.

Also, following the Manufacture's Data Report for the tank, the acceptance standard maximum is 150 mtorr for 72 hours. Is this value (150 mtorr) mentioned in the codes and standard or just manufacturer's standard?

Thanks in advance.

Re: [MW:26136] Can we use S355J2+N instead of ASTM A36

Hi

You can use S355J2+N instead of A 36 unless like anthony specified, welding requirements because these materials are not in the assigned list .

Please pay attention on this ...However Client may exempt .

[MW:26129] Mild steel & carbon steel , carbon difference as per code

Dear Sir,

As we all of us known too and always talking about mild steel and carbon steel material.

As I know that, carbon percentage makes a difference to differentiate carbon steel and mild steel. As mild steel has low carbon percentage as compared to carbon steel.

But I want to know that as carbon steel comes in IS2062 category, then mild steel has to be study by which code?

Or
if we say IS 2062 for mild steel plates, then we can concluded that grade C is mild steel while grade A is carbon steel. Is it right.

Basically, I want to know, above which carbon % , material is said to be carbon steel and below which mentioned as mild steel.
In which code or standard it is mentioned?

Regards
Prasad

[MW:26128] USE AND STORAGE OF WELDING ELECTRODES

Dear Experts

I need the following information with the reference of the code / standard.

01.   If the electrodes are kept in the store and are not in sealed container, then

can we use them after Baking as per the manufacturer's recommendations

or not. Please do give the code / Standard  reference

02.   The job as per our WPS is supposed to be heated at 100 Degrees Celsius, how

to check the temperature, I do not have the measure Gun,

03.   As per the WPS the voltage should be 15 to 17 Volts, but is done at 20 Volts,

the current used is 100 Amps as required. What is the effect of this +3 Volts.

Material is WCB and it is only for overlay.

Thanks for the information in advance.

Dear sir,

I have 1" s.s. pipe having thkness of 4.1mm. We have used x ray quality with D4 size film. We have shown the client, required IQI as per sec V.

But client wants 2% sensitivity as per specification.

Sensitivity= min thk of visible wire/ thk of base metal*100

In our case, sensitivity= 0.20/4.1*100.
So, it will come as 4.84 % .

So, how we will get 2% sensitivity.

Regards
Prasad

With X- Ray its is Easily u can Achive the 2% Senstivity in 1" (Give 24" SFD" and to Calculate the 2% Sensitivity SE - 94 use he formula - Achieved wire thickness / Estimated Thickness including Reinforcement Thickness * 100.

Re: [MW:26120] About GMAW , metal transfer technique recognition

Only using an oscillograph you can ind out if you are in the short-circuit transfer mode. Check those links:
As a "general rule"
Typical A range: 30-200 A
Typical V range: 16-22V
wire diameter: below 1,2 mm
Heat input low, risk of lack of fusion

Ho                  The above is only indicative. Only the oscillograph can tell you the trough

Dear sir,

All of we know that in GMAW process, there are three metal transfer techniques.
1) spray transfer.
2) globular transfer
3) short circuiting.

We know that, as per different temperature, voltage and with different shielding gases also, different technique generated.
But, on site and in practicality, how we come to know that welder is using which type of technique.

Re: [MW:26120] NER and Vacuum for cryogenic tank

Evaluation or Evaporation?

2017-02-20 12:35 GMT+02:00 rbenadjal@avl.sonatrach.dz <refazosaris@gmail.com>:

Good morning every body,

Following your knowledge and your experience, please advise me how to determine the nitrogen evaluation rate (NER) for the cryogenic tank.

My question:

-          Is there any code to control the NER?

If no code any procedure or specification on the subject would be appreciated.

Also, following the Manufacture's Data Report for the tank, the acceptance standard maximum is 150 mtorr for 72 hours. Is this value (150 mtorr) mentioned in the codes and standard or just manufacturer's standard?

Thanks in advance.

Steel CT-3 is no longer listed in GOST 1050-88, it is now listed in
GOST 14959-79 which is a product specification for Carbon and Alloyed
Spring Rolled Steel.

In addition, the same steel is listed in various product
specifications:
GOST 535-88 for round bars and shapes.
GOST 14637-89 for plates and sheets.
GOST 8479-70  for forgings.

Typical chemical composition for CT 3 (killed) is: C (0.14-0.22), Si
(0.15-0.30), Mn (0.40-0.65)
Mechanical properties: YS 225-245 MPa min, TS 370-480 MPa min, A
22-26% min (depending on the product thickness). So, it is very close
to A-36.

Hope, it is helpful
