[MW:10704] WPS Qualification / Pressure Vessel / ASME Sec VIII, Div 1

Dear All,

 

Design Code: ASME Sec VIII, Div 1

U-Stamp Pressure Vessel

 

Reference Code : ASME Sec IX, Edition 2007, Add 09

Material of Construction: SA 516 Gr 70N(30mm thk)

PQR Material : 1. Pipe - ASME SA 333 and 2. Flange : ASTM A350 LF2

 

Query:

Is it mandatory that Qualification has to be done only with a ASME Material?

If ASTM Material is used for qualification, then WPS will be qualified only for that particualr Material and cannot be Qualified as P1 Material. Please provide all reference from Code for justification.

 

Hope to see that i was able to communicate properly with regard to raised query.
