[MW:10670] RE: 10655] hydro testing of Pipelines

Dear All,

So many parameters are involved to define the pressure variations.

Out of  these few are addressed…

1.      Size of the pipe.

2.      Length of the pipe.

3.      Initial and final temp and pressures of the line

4.      Surrounding soil temp, atmosphere temp etc

5.      Isothermal expansion / contraction of steel at the given range of temp

6.      Isothermal expansion / contraction of water at the given range of the temp.

7.      Air volume calculation results (to evaluate any air presence in the line)

And few more details are required.

Based on this difference in the pressure drop is evaluated.

Thanks & Regards

Subject: [MW:10655] hydro testing of Pipelines

Team,

We have just completed the hydro test for 66" underground Pipeline the temperature at the begining of the test / Holding time was 13 Deg C. and after 14 hrs of the holding period ( 24 hrs ) the temperature was 24 deg C.

what will be the change in pressure ?

Regards,
